Weekly Report 10: I Can See Clearly Now

This past week of ISM was extremely eye opening. Developing an idea for the Original Work really helped with establishing goals for research and the year overall. Additionally the Original Work idea is very exciting, the current idea is very innovating; however, it is a lot of work and those goals need to be laid out ahead of time. Starting research for the Original Work is a lot more interesting than regular week-to-week research due to having a goal set for what research should be focused on.

As for completion of previous goals set, this week was very productive. Assessment eight covering post-operative care after open heart surgery was completed the day before the deadline with little to complete the following day. There was an issue with pressing “Turn In” before the deadline but that can be fixed easily with a better attention to detail. The binder portfolio has started to be put together and little has been done for the digital portfolio since that is not a top priority at the moment. All three SMART goals have been completed as well. Those three set goals will be very beneficial in creating a healthy work ethic with efficient time management.

As for work ethic and time management, this weeks was the highest that it has ever been. As mentioned before, assessment eight was completed before the due date with plenty of time to double check work for any errors. The work ethic was high due to implementing the Pomodoro Method which will definitely be utilized in the future. Even though last week was very busy these two aspects were very well managed throughout the week.

This upcoming weeks goals consist of preparing the Research Presentation, completing more research for the Original Work and assessment nine, completing the Original Work proposal in full, adding more onto the binder and digital portfolios and scheduling more interviews. If the current standards are kept for this week everything should run smoothly.
