Going into this past week of ISM, there was a lot of excitement and fear surrounding the Original Work. As well as the Original Work, there was nervousness associated with the looming Research Presentation. Although there was a lot to complete, the week ran smoothly and productivity was high. All goals set for the week were completed efficiently, including scheduling an interview. The upcoming interview is scheduled with a registered invasive cardiovascular specialist at Medical City Frisco. It is different because she is not a nurse practitioner but it still provides a learning opportunity for there is still a cardiac aspect to their job. As well as the interview, the goal is to tour the hospitals catheter lab to learn more about catheter procedures. Overall, the experience should be very helpful with future research.
As for work ethic and time management in the past week, while there wasn’t an assessment the work ethic and time management was still high. The research presentation slideshow has already been completed allowing plenty of time to prepare and run through the presentation. Once again the Pomodoro Method was helpful in minimizing the distractions and promoting an efficient and high work ethic.
For this upcoming week, because there is no research assessment self motivation will be very important to facilitate research for the Original Work. Research will be focused on specific surgery recovery requirements. As well as Original Work research, another goal is to continue work on the digital portfolio so that progress can be made throughout the year. Because there are no deadline based goals this week, self motivation will have to be very high to keep up with work on future goals.
