This past week of ISM was the most stressful thus far. There was a lot of information to take in and understand while researching for assessment three. Also, creating a resume from scratch was a difficult task since there are a lot of components to include. Although there were a lot of goals to be completed, they were all done; however, not as well as they could have been due to the lack of time management. Last week was a lot busier than the week before and therefore managing time was a lot harder. Even though time management is still an issue, overall work ethic was better than previous weeks. The main goals for this week were researching types of congenital heart defects (CHDs) and corrective surgeries as well as developing a professional resume.
The article over CHDs and surgeries was intimidating at first. There was a lot of information to take in and it was difficult to comprehend everything at first. Although it seemed like a lot at first, after thoroughly reading the article the information was a lot easier to understand. Previous knowledge was extremely helpful for there was not a lot of words that were hard to understand. In the coming weeks, research will be focused toward specific surgeries to help in understanding the details of the procedures.
Creating a professional resume was not as difficult as writing assessment three but there were still challenges. While the content was simple, the spacing and format was the difficult part. As a perfectionist, the layout had to be aesthetically pleasing and aligned evenly for complete satisfaction. In the end, the rough draft of the resume looked professional overall and was very successful.
Goals for the upcoming week include revising previous assessments, researching specific surgeries, and starting on a digital portfolio. So these goals can be feasible, time management is extremely important just as in last week. With an overall better time management, getting ahead on the assignments should help in the future weeks.
