The past week of ISM went smoother than those in the past. The assessment was easier to write from a structural standpoint; however, due to the integration of multiple topics, it was more work overall. Due to wanting the assessment to be in detail and incorporate career-specific information, four topics were chosen to provide multiple perspectives. Although doing so was beneficial, researching four separate topics was daunting. In order to complete such a task, the work put into the assessment was extremely focused and efficient. Due to the high work ethic, the high-priority goals were completed and the lower priority goals were started on.
As for cold calling, no calls have actually been made thus far; however, the plan is to start calling after business symposium and practicing more with talking to strangers and professionals. Therefore, calling someone will be easier due to more real-world experience. Although no calls have been made, a script has been created to help guide calls for any situation.
In future weeks as calls start being made and research continues, the goals are to schedule interviews, find an idea for the original work, conduct further research into surgeries and medical advancements in congenital heart surgery, and continue work on the digital portfolio. The most important goals are for scheduling interviews and conducting research in the next week or two. While things are running smoothly, for now, work ethic and time management need to continue to improve for the workload will get heavier throughout the year.
