10/8 - 10/14

As weeks go by, a rhythm is forming. Settling into a steady weekly beat is really beneficial to progress. In the past week, the process of contacting professionals has begun. Calling has not been as successful; however, there has been some progress made with email. Hospitals are very different in comparison to an office building for there are many separate units and with each unit a phone number. Many phone numbers are not listed for individual units are not listed, only those for patient inquiries. Therefore, when calling for purposes of setting up an interview the call gets transferred from number to number. Although the contact given was not one on the list, the nurse practitioner answered her email and agreed to set up an interview with logistics yet to be determined.

All goals made for this week were completed in a fairly timely manner. Time management was efficient; however, work ethic was not very high. Oftentimes various things would cause distraction from the assessment, therefore, these distractions need to decrease in coming weeks.

This week’s goals consist of starting to develop a binder portfolio, continuing to contact professionals, scheduling an interview, conduct research over specific operative care, and developing a project idea for the original work. With the many goals planned for this week, there needs to be an organization based on priority. This will help with keeping focus and completing tasks on time.
