This past week of ISM was very exciting for the first interview occurred. The interview was very informational in helping understand the role of a cardiac pediatric nurse practitioner in the Dallas area. The interview experience was much more personable than originally expected and it was very enjoyable hearing the many stories the interviewee had to share. As for the interview assessment, it was a little difficult adjusting to a new assessment format. After writing many a research assessment the interview assessment was almost foreign with the content being in a very different context. It was much harder to avoid summary and implement personal thoughts; however, it was manageable.
As for goals that were set, the binder portfolio has been set up, attempts to contact more professionals were not successful, and because an interview was successfully scheduled, the research goal will be saved for this upcoming week. As for the original work idea, there are a couple not fully developed ideas in mind that are subject to change. Work ethic and time management were better than in weeks past as distractions diminished.
For this next week, goals consist of developing SMART goals, printing for the binder portfolio, working on the digital portfolio and continuing research on operative care. Due to the various goals set for this week as well as the overall schedule with other classes and extracurriculars, time management and work ethic need to be higher than ever.
